スザンヌ・フリーン博士を迎えてのワークショップ

昨日、MIT（マサチューセッツ工科大学）言語学教授のスザンヌ博士をゲストに迎えてのスペシャルワークショップがありました。

今回の講演では、昨年より２つポイントが増えています。

1. Human language is aunique and special human capacity.
　　ことばを話すことは、人間特有の能力です。

2. There is underlyingly only one human language.
　　基本的には、　人間のことばは一つしかありません。

3. A child is not "taught"language.
　　子どもはことばを「教わる」のではありません。

4. Multilingualism is the natural state of the human mind.
　　多言語は、人間の知能（知性）の自然な状態です。

5. There is really no limit to the number of languages one can learn.
　　1人が習得できることばの数に限りはありません。

6. Everyone can learn a new language throughout ones's lifetime and in fact doing so, will help you stay mentally young.
　　誰でも渉外を通じて新しいことばを学ぶことができます。それどころか、それによって心を若く保つことができます。

7. The more lanugages you know, the easier it gets.
　　多くのことばを知れば知るほど、習得するのが簡単になります。

8. Knowing multiple languages has important positive consequences at multiple levels that last a lifetime.
　　複数のことばができることは、さまざまなレベルにおいて、重要でポジティブな結果をもたらし、それは生涯にわたって続きます。

　自分自身、体験的に納得がいく部分がいくつもありました。それについては、またおいおい書いていければと思っています。
